Service

At Valleyview Alliance Church we believe that we are called to serve. If we adopt the idea that the church exists to serve us we have lost the Biblical mandate for the church. There is no doubt that by engaging in the fellowship of believers we will receive blessings. But the church is not an institution for us to consume; rather, a gathering of believers who are called to be using their gifts to be serving in love

The guiding verse for this section is Galatians 5:13 “For you were called to freedom, brethren; only do not turn your freedom into an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.”

The Bible is clear that you cannot love God and not love each another. Part of loving is service both inside the walls of our church and in our community. We are engaged in serving in the following ways:

~Sturgeon Lake Bible Camp

Camping ministry is a huge part of Valleyview Alliance Church. We are heavily connected with Sturgeon Lake Bible Camp and love our camp deeply. We believe camp is an amazing way to reach kids and families with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. You can find out more about the camp here.

~International Ministries

Because we are part of the Christian and Missionary Alliance in Canada, missions is in the very fabric of who we are. We are connected to our denomination and support the Global Advance Fund to provide for the needs of our international workers.

Along with supporting Alliance international ministries, as a whole, we also partner closely with Paul and Chantelle. As a church we have made a covenant with them to support them through finances, prayer, and friendship.

~Spiritual conversations with unbelievers

We believe that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is for everyone. Scripture teaches that we have a responsibility to be spreading the Gospel and encouraging others to come into a relationship with Jesus Christ. For more on the Gospel message click here.

~Care ministry

We live in a world that is not perfect and we often encounter painful and difficult times. It is especially in these times that we as a church desire to show the love of Christ in tangible ways (meals, cards, flowers, or conversations). We desire to work together as a family and help and encourage one another when times are difficult.

~Community meal

Every Christmas our church puts on a traditional Christmas supper for the community of Valleyview. This dinner is open to everyone who would like to attend and is free of charge. We believe that at the time set aside to celebrate the birth of our Lord it is important that we are also showing His love.

~Lodge Services

Valleyview Alliance Church along with the rest of the ministerial in Valleyview provides a service for the residents of Red Willow Lodge at 7:00 PM on Thursday nights.
